The RHS Diary 2012 showcases the work of eight women artists whose work dates from the nineteenth century to the twentieth century. Some, like Augusta Withers, Margaret Meen and Nelly Roberts, were professional artists illustrating books and magazines, whereas little is known of others, such as Caroline Applebee and Lydia Penrose, whose private work was donated to the RHS Lindley Library. This diary is a rare opportunity to celebrate the work of these women artists, professional or amateur.
